Licensing
Getting a Real Estate LicenseAll real estate licenses in Texas are issued by the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC). They handle applications, renewals, course requirements, and compliance with the Texas Real Estate License Act. Their Web site is outstanding, and you will probably be able to answer most of your questions by visiting it. They have applications, rules, license requirements, MCE records, and much more available online. You can also call them at (800) 250-TREC or (512) 459-6544. Visit the TREC Web site. Core CoursesIn order to obtain a real estate license, you must complete certain core real estate courses as required by TREC. To find out exactly what courses you need, please contact TREC directly at (800) 250-TREC or (512) 459-6544, or online at http://www.trec.state.tx.us.
